Rev. Chris Latham Whitley

Chris Lynn Whitley is the third child of the late Rev. Dr. George Garland and Elsie Locke Latham, Sr. of Zebulon, N.C.  She is married to Pastor Larry W. Whitley, former Moderator of the Mecklenburg General Baptist Association, and presently Pastor of Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. They have two daughters, Kashonda and Kristy, two son in laws, Rev. Timothy Cason and Ronald Spruill and six grandchildren, Brianna Burns, Indya Burns, Infinity Spruill, Ashlynn Spruill, Whitlei Cason and Myland Cason.
 
Rev. Chris was educated in the Wake County School System.  She attended N.C. A&T State University in Greensboro and received Basis Training at the N.C. Highway Patrol Basis School for the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles as a Driver's License Examiner.  She was stationed in Monroe, N.C. for seven years, and later transferred to N.C. Crime Control and Public Safety where she served as Victim and Justice Community Service Coordinator. She served for 24 years. and retired in August, 2005 from the N.C. Department of Corrections.
 
Rev. Chris was called by God to preach the gospel, and she answered her call on January 24, 2006 at Mt. Moriah. She graduated from Interdenominational Theological School in Theology in Atlanta, Georgia.
 
At  Mount  Moriah, she serves over the Women's Ministry, Youth Choir, Co-Facilitator along with Pastor Whitley over the Marriage Retreat Ministry, Missionary Department, Minister's Wives Auxiliary of MGBA, and Women Auxiliary of the MGBA.
 
The most important thing to know regarding Rev. Chris Lynn Whitley, is that she loves The Lord, and she will let nothing separate her from the Love of God.
